... but if you were to make a new year resolution, what would it be? It's been many years since I've made one, but this year I did. I plan to drastically and consciously reduce my sugar intake. The more I learn about the way sugar acts on the inside of vessels and organs, the more I want to cut way back on it. Sugar is like little shards of glass that chips away at the insides of blood vessels and organs. If too much chipping occurs, internal bleeding and eruptions can occur, and infections and other unwanted conditions can develop. No thanks. I can switch to sugar-free ice cream, gum, drinks, etc. Read labels -- you may be surprised. I have already begun making my own cranberry sauce by hand that is sweetened every so slightly with a sugar substitute.
Will I push sugar aside completely? No. Participating in having some birthday cake or something sweet on a daily basis is still in the picture. I'm not going to go totally nuts; but with just a little modification, I believe I can cut the amount of my sugar consumption in half, and maybe even more!
